Tandem Paragliding Flight

A tandem flight is an introductory paragliding flight. As a passenger you need no prior knowledge, just come with us and experience the world from a new and exciting perspective. Once the Paraglider is inflated and safety checks are done we take a few steps down a slope until we step into the air.

Please read the following information carefully before we meet for your flight.

Clothing:

Closed shoes, preferably hiking boots. Warm clothes, it is colder in the air than on the ground, gloves, a thin hat to fit under your helmet.

Flight duration:

Depending on conditions the flight can be anything from 3-30 minutes. We aim for 15-20 minutes, but if conditions are slack and we think the flight might be short we will inform you and you can choose not to fly.

Where we fly from:

Hafrafell by Hafravatn, 15 min. drive from central Reykjavík.

The hike up the mountain takes about 15 min., bring a bottle of water.

Photography:

You can bring your own camera at your own risk.

Your pilot will be equipped with a high definition video camera from which you can get the files.

Safety:

Please note that we only fly when the weather conditions are safe. If, when we arrive on take-off, and think it's anything less than perfect we can either wait for conditions to become better or walk down and try again another time. Paragliding Iceland Instructor Tandem Pilots and their passengers are insured under the Reykjavík Free Flying Club policy.

Paragliding can be a dangerous activity and an Introductory Paragliding Tandem flight is always at your own risk.

  • Additional Information:

Please bear in mind that Paragliding is highly reliable on weather. We always put safety first and if weather does not co-operate we will offer you a re-schedule, an alternative or a full refund. Paragliding weather is not necessarily the same as what non-paragliding pilots call good weather. We rely on micro meteorology and need to take different factors into account, like prevailing wind at height, wind on take-off and landing, wind direction, predicted changes as well as the effects of sun, sea breeze and the landscape. With Iceland being a very small island on the brink of the Arctic Circle weather can change faster than anything you’ve seen before. Please make sure we have your email and phone number and make sure to check for any communication from us before heading out. Should we need to make changes to the schedule due to weather we will strive to let you know as soon as possible.

A Tandem Paragliding Flight is a legitimate Introductory flight operated by licensed and experienced Paragliding Instructor pilots.
